The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has finalized new rules pertaining to the Qualified Entity Program of the ACA. The new rules expand access to data and analyses of Medicare and private sector claims data for the purpose of improving protocols for care through more informed healthcare decisions. This initiative permits “qualified entities” to confidentially share or sell the data to providers, employers and others.
