According to a report from PwC (Pricewaterhouse Coopers), healthcare spending could reach $9 trillion annually, and comprise 20.6% of gross domestic product by 2035. The PwC report also predicts that health plans will increasingly adjust premiums, benefits, network designs and utilization management strategies to control costs. Employers are expected to reassess benefit offerings, while consumers may face higher deductibles, increased cost sharing and fewer coverage options in the years to come.
