According to the HBMA, trial dates have been set for two major insurance mergers being challenged by the Department of Justice on anti-trust grounds. The trial date to challenge the Aetna – Humana merger has been set for December 5th, 2016. The Anthem – Cigna merger is also being challenged by the DOJ and will be heard on November 21st, 2016. A decision in both cases is expected in January 2017.
